May 28th

Good morning, It has been a great week here as Isaias, Ana and myself have been hauling in different types of rock to place around palm trees. Some of these rocks we found o the beach and others we went up into the hills for. We also are preparing for the summer groups right now and we just finished up our first concrete floor. It took us two days to do. Hopefully next week we can do another or maybe even two more.
The feedback I am receiving from pastors here has been overwhelming possitive about pulling together and pastors meeting pastors and churched working toigether. They have desided to meet once a month but now are aking for a pastors retreat here in the San Quintin Valley. There are pastor retreats around Mexico but the cost to get there and back is to much for most of them. We are looking at puting on together here in fall.
The responce I got from my last blog about raising money for a car for pastor  here is exciting. My brother (Willie) got involved and has spread the word around Prince George area and has raised over half already. We need about another $1200.00 before June 15th. We can not give a tax receipt for this, but I can say that this will be a great blessing to this pastor. If you are in P.G. and are interested in getting involved you can get in touch with Willie, other wise you can also email me at ed@onelife onechance.ca   I thank everyone in advance for giving.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.

update May 20

Greetings
Last few weeks have been very interesting to say the least. Ana, Isaias wife usually does all the cooking here and all she asks is that I bbq hambergers once a month. Well last week it was my turn to bbq and I desided to invite a pastor and his family to join us. The night I ask them God ask me why only one pastor, I ended up inviting six pastors and five made it. These pastors all work locally here yet never get to meet one another, so this was a great oppertunity to meet and greet and they now have desided to do this once a month and invite even more pastors to join then in a pot lock supper here at the base. They all had a great time sharing and talking that I still even now a week later when I see then they say thanks. I am looking forward to how God will unite these churches and pastors from this piont forward. One pastor even ask me today on a possibility of putting together a pastor retreat in early fall for a couple days. Transportation is a problem for some of these pastors but they give it all they have to be a part of this. I have now invited most of the pastors we work with and the rest will be invited shortly. Please pray for these pastors and families as some of these pastors are not paid pastors from the church, they have jobs in the fields here..
Speaking of transportation: there is one pastor here, pastor Eli who is in need of a car. I know of a car,  1996 Acura and about 130,000 km on it. A very solid car. Valued at $4500.00.  I need to raise $3500,00 plus an extra $400.00 for gas and insurance to get it here, by mid June. There is an oppertunity to have it driven down here then. If we raise a little more than that the extra will go to her to help withher bible school she is taking. If anyone can help out here please contact Rob or Brenda.
I thank you for all your prayers and suppport and may God bless you.

May, 12th

Greetings from Mexico
I have been busy with meeting pastors and new pastors coming on board with One Life One Chance and the minisrty here. I am that there are pastors here that have never had out side ministries  connect with them. Just a few day ago I sat down with pastor Isaias and another pastor not far from here and when I ask him how a forein team could help him, he was not sure how to answer that as he has never had a mission team stop by. I was heart broken and I had to promise him that would change this year. He also told us that even his congragation was asking how come forein teams bypassed them. The need is great here and this spring the weather was colder than normal and all the crops are behind and the work was just was not there for them. Food, clothing and shelter seems to be the biggest requests. Please pray for the ministry as we prepare for this summers teams, that God will direct us in helping these people. thank you for all your prayer and support.  Ed
